Guys thanks for your time. By the way loving the new website you've got setup!
Firstly, why the name ‘Revive’?
(Dave) We love the meaning of the word! What we are all about is helping people discover for the first time or rediscover their passion for God. Also we just like the sound of it!
Tell us about your experiences with ‘Third Day’ and your tour with them. Also what is it like working with Mac Powell and what impact has he had on your development as a band?
(Dave) It had been such a blast touring around the USA with the Third Day guys playing over 100 shows with them. We have covered a serious amount of miles and seen over 40 states already! The Third Day fans have made us feel very welcome. Mac is a great guy and seriously talented. He really helped us shape our songs and sound for the album 'Chorus of the Saints'. We had many fun times in the studio!
What was it like moving out of Australia to base yourselves in Atlanta US, leaving your friends and families to pursue a career in Christian music?
(Rich) Not easy! In fact probably the hardest thing we've ever done! There are so many things you don't really think about that become big deals - getting homes, cars, drivers licenses, finding mechanics and doctors even supermarkets. It is a whole new life in one hit. But I think the opportunities we had were so exciting that things were easier to do. I also think that God gives you the faith and courage you need to get through the situations he puts you in. At least that's what we've experienced!
You've released a few albums and been together for a few years now. What continues to motivate you to play at youth groups, schools and massive events such as Winter Jam in the US and the upcoming ‘LIVE OUT LOUD’ in Sydney?
(Rich) Concerts like LOUD in Sydney are really exciting for us... and probably always will be. I love what it stands for - being loud in our walk with Jesus. Not timid and quiet but bold and proud. That is something we as a band have always been excited about inspiring the youth to do. WinterJam is a different theme, but no less important. Our ministry in the US this year will be one of inspiring and encouraging the church toward holy living in response to the grace we've been shown. So I guess us getting exciting about those opportunities to minister is helpful in keeping motivation high.
Your latest album features the vibrant hit single 'Chorus of the Saints'. Could you talk about the inspiration and meaning this track?
(Mike) This song comes from looking at the Israelites in the OT and it looks like they are very quick to forget God and his provision and we often get frustrated saying "its right in front of you!". We think we are different but the truth is we are the same! We forget about God and his plan/help all the time through the self reliance we develop from this world. We need to rely on God in our day to day lives and not think we are immune to wandering away.
It was big news for us when we heard of Tyler's departure. Has the band refocused its vision since he left?
(Mike) We are still playing for Gods glory and to further His kingdom. What the band stands for and its goals haven't changed since Ty moved onward and updward!
One more question before we get into the fun part of the interview which is the quick questions section = ), what pearls of advice do you have for any young Christian band that is just starting out in Australia and wants to follow in your footsteps?
(Rich) Be planned and purposeful in everything you do - try to never "drift" along. Practice a lot. Submit your band to God. And remember that songs are key - always! Practicing writing songs all the time because that is your future as a band. Don't just practice either getting better music or better lyrics but work equally hard at both - the best Christian artists we have come across are the ones that do that.
(Dave) Well every band has a different story so there is certainly no script to follow that ensures success. However some advice is - practice your own instrument as much as you can, practice together as a band as much as you can and start writing songs as much as you can!
(Mike) Look to be God's tools/hands and feet in your own community first, weather at your church/youthgroup. Try to be useful and serve with the band in your local community, practice your craft then look where God might lead you, might even be overseas!
OK its that part of the interivew where we discover that your regular dudes like everyone else, what's your FAVOURITE:

Any last words?...hold up...did I just hear right from Mr Parker that your releasing a new album? Tell us about it!
(Rich) Yes (good work Parker!). It is going to be a great album. The best thing we've done as a band in my opinion. We feel like musically it is really strong... every song on there is great! I really hope people fall in love with it as much as we have. We have the producer Jason Ingram working on it and he has brought some serious talent to the table. We were very fortunate to have him work with us At the moment it is looking like a June release.
Thanks again for your time! We can't wait to see you perform soon at the Live Out Loud event in Sydney Dec 4th at the Sydney Entertainment Centre!!
