Try Posting to Engage: Publish from Windows Live Writer!

Step 1

Install the Professional Edition of metaPost.  It's an easy install and there's no configuration necessary on your part.  Just install and you're ready.  We're assuming that you already have Engage: Publish installed.

Step 2

Download WLW if you don't already have it on your Windows machine.  You can create an account to test the WLW integration using our demo site.  Here's what you'll need to know when you go through the account creation process in WLW (Weblog menu | Add Weblog Account) :

• Choose 'Another Service' in the first dialog and click Next.
• Enter http://metapost.itcrossing.com/ for the home page URL
• Enter cheddar for the username
• Enter extrasharp for the password and click Next.
• Choose MetaWeblog as the API from the dropdown
• Enter http://metapost.itcrossing.com/metapost.ashx?key=engage: publish for the posting URL and click next.
• Click yes to download the site styles.
• Click OK when you're done!

You're almost there!  Now, let's create a test post.

• Add some text for your title.
• Enter a short description of your post under the title and then choose Split Post from the Format menu (ALT + O and then S for the keyboard shortcut to work it like a pro).
• Enter the main part of your test entry.
• Click publish and whala, your new post!

Congratulations!  Now that you've completed the account creation process, writing new posts with WLW is super easy.  Just open WLW and go (If you use more than one account, you may need to change accounts first from the Weblog menu).
